In late 2016, Brinsea Products Ltd unveiled a new range of incubators. Their selection of twelve new machines is divided into four main models… the Mini II, Maxi II, Ovation 28 and Ovation 56. Each model has three specification levels; Eco, Advance & ‘EX’.
Today we’ll be discussing the new Mini II and Maxi II incubators.
The Mini II incubator range builds on the success of its predecessor, the Brinsea Mini. The Mini was introduced back in 2012 and immediately enjoyed success and fame among poultry breeders. The size and ease-of-use made the Brinsea Mini the perfect beginner incubator.
Today, the Mini II and Maxi II share much in common with the original design. An elegant, dome shape makes for great hatching visibility and the moving floor mechanism in the Advance and EX models is very efficient for egg turning. The differences in the design are a subtle yet welcome improvement. Firstly, the Maxi models have been introduced to literally MAXImise space whilst keeping the unit small and compact. See the egg capacities below.

The second big improvement of the Brinsea Mini II and Maxi II is the external water trough. A simple addition that allows you to increase the incubator humidity without losing heat from lifting the lid. Finally, the Mini II and Maxi II EX models now have the humidity pump built-in. This change has dramatically reduced the cost of the EX versions.
